Cuppa Technologies, Inc. (“Cuppa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you access or use the Cuppa mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We may collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account and profile information, such as your name or display name, username, profile photo, and other profile details you choose to provide.

  • Contact information used for authentication and account access, such as an email address and/or phone number (depending on your sign-in method).

  • User-generated content you submit through the Service, including photos, text, posts, comments, check-ins, saved items, and other content (collectively, “User Content”).

  • Communications you send to us, such as support requests or other messages.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit and for the User Content you choose to share.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use the Service, we may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Device and app information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language settings, and network information.

  • Usage information, such as features used, screens viewed, and interactions with content and other users.

  • Log and diagnostic information, including crash reports and performance data, which we use to maintain reliability, security, and functionality.

1.3 Location Information

With your permission, we may collect precise location information while the app is in use to provide location-based features, including:

  • showing nearby coffee shops,

  • enabling and verifying check-ins, and

  • personalizing recommendations and content.

Location access is optional; however, certain features may not function properly without it. We do not sell your location data.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for purposes that include:

  • Providing and operating the Service and its features;

  • Personalizing content, recommendations, and user experiences;

  • Safety, integrity, and security, including detecting, preventing, investigating, and responding to abuse, fraud, harmful content, or violations of our Terms;

  • Moderation and enforcement, including reviewing reports and blocks, removing content, and restricting accounts when appropriate;

  • Improving the Service, including troubleshooting, analytics, and performance monitoring; and

  • Communicating with you, including responding to support requests and sending important notices about the Service.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We may share information with third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf (e.g., hosting, infrastructure, analytics, and error monitoring). These providers are permitted to use information only to perform services for us and must protect it consistent with this Privacy Policy.

3.2 AI Processing (Ask Brew and Brew’s Take)

Cuppa includes AI-powered features that use a third-party AI processing provider: DeepSeek.

Ask Brew. When you use Ask Brew, Cuppa may transmit the following data to DeepSeek to generate responses:

  • your message text;

  • conversation context (recent chat history and prior results shown in the chat);

  • location coordinates (latitude/longitude) and search radius, when needed for nearby recommendations;

  • preference and activity context (such as taste preferences, recent check-ins, and saved shops) to personalize results; and

  • coffee shop context used to generate recommendations.

Account email is not included in Ask Brew AI processing requests.

Brew’s Take. Brew’s Take uses shop/community context (such as shop details, amenities, web signals, and community excerpts) to generate a shop summary and does not require account email.

Cuppa requests user permission before enabling Ask Brew AI processing.

3.3 Legal, Safety, and Rights

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;

  • enforce our Terms;

  • protect the rights, property, or safety of Cuppa, our users, or others; or

  • detect, prevent, or address security or technical issues.

3.4 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

4. User Content and Visibility

The Service includes community features. Depending on your settings and how the Service operates, User Content you post may be visible to other users. You should not post content you do not want to be public.

We may remove or restrict access to User Content that violates our Terms, this Privacy Policy, or applicable law.

5. Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide and operate the Service,

  • comply with legal obligations,

  • resolve disputes, and

  • enforce our agreements.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information as required and as reasonably practicable. Certain information may be retained or de-identified where necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, or the integrity of community content (for example, some content may be reassigned to a “deleted user” profile where appropriate).

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of certain personal information. You may also manage certain settings (including location permissions) through your device settings.

To make a request, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
